My great uncle, Lewis
Van Rensselaer Smith, covered the second f light of the Wright Brothers for the Norfolk Virginia Pilot. (As far we know, there was no media coverage of the first flight.) His article appeared on the front page above the fold but without a byline. It is still available on the web site of the Virginia Pilot. Today the language seems somewhat strange but he had to be creative in this wholly novel subject.
