Answer: The Boucher Community Ice Rink is an open-air seasonal ice skating rink located in Waveny Park that opened for the season on December 7. The Rink is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity and open to everyone. There are a few new features to the Rink this year!
New this year, adult skate rentals are available in addition to children’s skate rentals. Skate rentals are $5.00 per day or $50 for the season. Also available to rent are children’s “skate aids” for $5.00 to help with balancing on the ice.
The Rink is again offering skate sharpening for both adults and kids. The cost to sharpen skates is $10 per pair, and they will be done while you wait.
The Rink is open Tuesday – Sunday and has open skate times every day. Skaters can pay by the session, or season passes are available. Discounted group rates are also available for groups more than 10 people. Please note, cash is not accepted.
In addition, the Rink is available for private rentals for birthday parties and other gatherings almost every day after 6:30 pm.
Group Skate lessons are also offered this year! The cost is $175 for 4 lessons, and they can be reserved and paid for on the NC Rink website.
There is a heated gathering space with tables and benches. Hot chocolate is available for purchase, or skaters are welcome to bring their own food. In future seasons the Rink is hoping to offer additional food and snack sales.
Finally, volunteers are needed to help run the Rink. Please contact them at info@ncrink.com if you are interested in joining their team.
