As winter weather approaches, we at the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce are eagerly anticipating the return of our beloved Holiday Lights. From Thanksgiving through early January, our downtown will once again be transformed into a winter wonderland, with 50 beautifully decorated trees adorned with nearly 15,000 twinkling white lights. This annual tradition not only brightens our streets during the darkest months of the year but also brings our community together in celebration of the holiday season.
The magical glow of these lights is a gift from New Canaanites to one another. However, to keep this cherished tradition alive, we rely on the generosity of our residents. The total cost of this year’s display is $30,000, and with just a contribution of $1.50 from every resident, we could easily cover this expense. While we know that 100% participation is not realistic, we hope our residents will heed the call to donate to the campaign.
We invite you to consider making a tax-deductible donation of any size to the New Canaan Chamber Charitable Foundation. Every dollar counts and goes directly towards ensuring that our downtown remains vibrant and inviting throughout the holiday season. Your support helps create an atmosphere of joy and warmth that makes New Canaan truly special.
Let’s come together to make this holiday season unforgettable. With your help, we can keep the lights shining bright and preserve this cherished New Canaan tradition.
Donations can be made online at https://newcanaanchamber.com/holiday-lights/ or you can mail a check to The New Canaan Chamber Charitable Foundation C/O The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce PO Box 214 New Canaan CT 06840.
