State Senator Ryan Fazio is set to provide an update to the New Canaan Men’s Club on the recently concluded General Assembly session. The meeting will take place on June 7 in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, located at 111 Oenoke Ridge.
Sen. Fazio, a Republican representing Greenwich, Stamford, and a portion of New Canaan, was first elected in 2021. He serves as the ranking senator on the Energy and Technology Committee and holds positions on the Planning and Development; Finance, Revenue and Bonding; and Transportation Committees.
The Men’s Club meeting will commence at 10 a.m., with Sen. Fazio’s legislative update scheduled to begin at approximately 10:40 a.m.
In a recent statement, Sen. Fazio highlighted reforms to the 8-30g affordable housing laws. These reforms are designed to simplify the process for towns seeking consecutive moratoriums from the requirements. “Our proposal to make it easier for towns to get consecutive moratoriums was inspired by the denial of a second moratorium for New Canaan,” Fazio explained.
The New Canaan Men’s Club is open to new members. Men aged 55 and older interested in joining can email ncmens@ncmens.org for more information.
