Dear Editor,
On behalf of New Canaan CARES, I want to thank the volunteers and leaders of the National Charity League – New Canaan Chapter, National Charity League – Canaan Parish Chapter, and S.L.O.B. organizations. The leaders of these three organizations provide countless volunteer opportunities to students in grades 7 – 12 in New Canaan. These volunteer opportunities allow the students to experience what it feels like to add value to others in their community. This past Fall, NCL and SLOB student volunteers partnered with New Canaan CARES to deliver our GAME ON! program at all three public elementary schools in New Canaan. During these one-hour classes, the volunteers lead 2nd and 3rd-grade students in playing old-school board games to develop positive communication, cooperation, team-building and social skills. We are thankful to each and every NCL and SLOB volunteer and the leaders of these organizations. We appreciate the partnership with these organizations and want to take the opportunity during the month of gratitude to say Thank You!
