Ghosts, ghouls, and pumpkins ablaze – the bewitching season is upon us, and our ‘spooktacular’ New Canaan community is gearing up for a Halloween weekend with offerings for every age and interest. Embrace the magic of the season as we delve into the thrilling events that await you and your family! Below are some of the upcoming weekend’s highlights. Grace Farms’ Fall Foliage Walk

Grace Farms in the fall is unlike any other season! From 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, stroll through the colorful leaves on this guided fall foliage walk during the most scenic time of year. As you walk, learn about the importance of forest restoration and how trees are powerful enough to mitigate climate change. This event will take place rain or shine. Please wear appropriate footwear.

New Canaan Nature Center’s Halloween Spooktacular

Get into the Halloween spirit by joining the New Canaan Nature Center on Saturday, October 29 for this spooktacular celebration from 5:30-7:00, or 7:30-9:00 PM at the NCNC. Learn about and meet some fiendish friends (spiders, snakes, owls, & more), enjoy making some creepy crafts, and roast a marshmallow while sharing spooky stories around a crackling campfire! Top off the evening with a one-of-a-kind jack-o-lantern experience and you will be destined to have a dreadfully wicked evening! Costumes are encouraged and welcome! Register online at the New Canaan Nature Center website, tickets are $15/ person.

Halloween Block Party and Howloween Dog Parade

This Sunday, October 30, beginning at noon on Elm Street, attend the Halloween Block Party and inaugural ‘HOWLOWEEN PARADE’! There will be Pet Pantry prizes for costumed dogs. Prize categories include: ‘So cute it’s scary’, ‘Bone to be wild’, and ‘Creepin’ it real’. Pre-registered dogs will all meet at The Morena Clock on Elm Street for check-in. The dogs and owners will then walk down to the Shade Store and parade back for the panel of experts to award the prizes. Spooktators are highly encouraged! This event is sponsored by Pet Pantry Warehouse and supported by the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce. Visit the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce for more information, tickets, and registration.

Halloween Story, Craft, and Art Exploration

The Carriage Barn Arts Center hosts a Halloween-themed story time and special craft from 2:00- 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 30. Then explore the Carriage Barn’s latest exhibit with your family! This program is ideal for families with preschool and early elementary children.

Lunch and Halloween BINGO

Enjoy lunch and a variety of Bingo games beginning at 12:30 PM at the Lapham Center on Tuesday, October 31! There will be prizes and a special treat for those who come in costume. Please reserve your spot by October 28. Tickets are $10 a person.

Trick- Or- Treat

This year, New Canaan’s Trick or Treat will be held on Tuesday, October 31 from 6:00- 8:00 PM. Get your costumes ready!
