Dear New Canaan Friends and Neighbors,
The New Canaan Community Foundation (“NCCF”) Annual Appeal is in full swing!
As Co-Chairs of the Appeal Committee, we are writing to ask you to join us in supporting this essential New Canaan not-for-profit organization as it raises funding to cover its 2025 and beyond mission-critical work. Our theme this year is “Generosity is at the Heart of Our Community”. The generosity of New Canaan families continues to astound us, as year after year we see so many fabulous causes supported by the people of this great town. The heart of our community is reflected in the both the financial support and the enthusiastic volunteerism demonstrated by so many of you. And the community we call home is truly that…an inclusive group of neighborhoods where residents work together to tackle issues in a unified, solution-oriented manner.
We both love New Canaan and have enjoyed raising our families in this special community. While many of us support specific not-for-profit organizations in and around town, we urge you to think about NCCF as you consider your giving plans. The NCCF provides the perfect gateway to a giving program that touches multiple organizations across a wide range of our community. Over recent years, NCCF has expanded its focus into the behavior health area, working with 30 other organizations under the Behavioral Alliance to provide funding to a diverse array of local behavioral and mental health organizations. In addition, each year NCCF touches the life of dozens of individuals through its “Touch A Life” emergency financial assistance for town residents in need of help with utilities, rent, summer camps, and more. And importantly, NCCF regularly provides grants to New Canaan community cultural, arts, educational and health organizations to supplement direct giving donations. Very importantly, the Foundation also provides grants to organizations in neighboring towns focused on health and human services. All of these giving opportunities are vetted by the Board of Directors, ensuring that the needs assessments are thorough and balanced. This “it takes a village” approach allows generous donors like you to be confident that your contributions are going to where the needs are greatest in and around our town and our neighboring communities.
