Question: I don’t want to cook Thanksgiving dinner. Where can I order a nice meal to eat at home, or a restaurant to go out to eat?
Answer: Thanksgiving is a wonderful time in New Canaan, whether you are spending time with family and friends, attending the Turkey Bowl, or just enjoying the fall foliage. If you don’t want to, or can’t cook Thanksgiving dinner, “thankfully” there are plenty of local options where you can either order dinner to go, or eat dinner out.
Walter Stewarts in New Canaan offers several catering options, including main entrees like turkey and ham, side dishes, desserts, hors d’oeuvres, and even brunch. Both larger, family-style and smaller portions are offered, depending on the size of your gathering. Orders can be placed directly on their website, and picked up Monday, November 25 through Wednesday, November 27. The cut off date for online ordering is Thursday, November 21 at 3:00 pm. Rosie’s in New Canaan also offers Thanksgiving catering, with a wide selection of homemade small bites, soups, side dishes, appetizers, salads, and desserts. Orders are due by Sunday, November 24 at 3:00 pm, and picked up between 2:00 – 4:00 pm on Wednesday, November 27. Elm Restaurant is hosting a prix-fixe 3 course Thanksgiving dinner for $175 per person in their elegant dining room. Diners can choose from several options per course, and the meal also includes several family-style sides. The Roger Sherman Inn has hosted Thanksgiving dinner for many years, and this year are again offering a prix-fixe 3 course dinner for $105 per person. In Silvermine, the Tavern at GrayBarns is also hosting a Thanksgiving dinner in their beautiful dining room. The 3 course prix-fixe dinner is $150 per person, with several choices per course, and additional appetizers and sides available for purchase.
