New Canaan Community Foundation is kicking off its fall programs with exciting opportunities for students, nonprofits, and volunteers.

Here’s how you can get involved:

Young Philanthropists Program – Applications Due October 6th

Do you know a high school student passionate about making a difference in their community? NCCF’s Young Philanthropists Program provides students with hands-on experience in civic engagement, fundraising, volunteering, and the nonprofit world. Through a monthly curriculum, students will learn how local nonprofits address community needs and participate in a grantmaking process. Applications for the 2024-2025 program are open until October 6th. For more information, contact Meg Soffen at msoffen@newcanaancf.org, or visit: newcanaancf.org/young-philanthropists-program

2025 Main Grant Cycle – Letters of Inquiry Due October 18th

Nonprofit organizations serving New Canaan and Lower Fairfield County are encouraged to submit Letters of Inquiry for NCCF’s 2025 Main Grant Cycle. NCCF prioritizes funding that supports quality-of-life initiatives, especially those addressing high-need areas. This year, NCCF has simplified the grant application process, and applicants are invited to attend an Info Session to learn about the changes on September 23rd. The deadline for Letters of Inquiry is October 18th at 11:59 p.m. Additional resources are available at newcanaancf.org/apply-grants.

Volunteer Recognition Awards – Nominations Due October 16th

NCCF is also accepting nominations for its annual Volunteer Recognition Awards. These awards honor individuals and groups who have gone above and beyond in their service to the New Canaan community. Categories include Rookie of the Year, MVP, Hall of Fame, and more. Nominations are open until October 16th, with the awards ceremony taking place on November 20th at Town Hall, followed by a reception at Pesca. To nominate someone or for more information, reach out to Kim Herr at kherr@newcanaancf.org or visit: newcanaancf.org/whats-happening/volunteer-recognition-awards-nominations-are-open
