New Director of Development at STAR, Lighting the Way…

STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way… is proud to announce the appointment of Kate Guthrie as the new Director of Development. Kate will succeed long-time Director of Philanthropy, Peter Saverine, who leaves the post after eleven years of dedicated service at STAR. Kate Guthrie, a resident of Westport, CT, holds degrees from College of Charleston and Cornell University. She previously served as the Director of Development at the Westport/Wilton YMCA, where she demonstrated exceptional skills in fundraising, organizing special events, donor development, and management. Her collaborative work with local community organizations has significantly contributed to her professional growth and success in the field.

In her new role, she will lead the organization’s fundraising and development initiatives, working to enhance and expand STAR’s programs and services. Kate’s vision and dedication will be instrumental in driving STAR’s mission forward and ensuring the continued success of its programs.

STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way… is a not-for-profit organization that has been serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Fairfield County since 1952. STAR provides a full range of services and support, including residential programs, day services, job training, and recreational activities, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the individuals and families it serves.
