The Settler, owned by Darien resident Jackie Randall, has recently joined forces with B.Organized Home, owned by New Canaan resident, Bridget Urgo, to create a singular, powerhouse company. The new-one-of-a-kind company, keeping The Settler name, is a full-service, concierge move management business and professional organization business.

The Settler’s team of more than 15 professionally trained move managers and organizers primarily serves the Tri-State area, the Northeast Corridor to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, and south Florida. With over 20 years of experience, Randall and Urgo have built a reputation for excellence in helping clients manage the complex logistics of relocation. They curate each move and meticulously organize their clients’ homes with efficiency and care.

Origins and Partnership

“The Settler was founded by my mother-in-law, Pinny Randall, over 20 years ago. She recognized a growing need for a moving company that specialized in personalized, high-quality relocation services,” said Jackie Randall. Having worked at the company for over a decade, Randall took over the reins in 2023.

She eventually began collaborating on projects with Urgo’s B. Organized Home, a company she founded in Washington, D.C. Urgo relocated to New Canaan, CT in 2018 and expanded her business into Fairfield County.

“Jackie and I were collaborating on many client projects together and continually referring one another, that we ultimately decided a partnership was the next logical step,” Urgo said.

Comprehensive Support

Urgo explained the comprehensive nature of their services: “We develop and execute customized move plans from start to finish; design custom, user-friendly organization systems; coordinate estate or auction sales. We work with all demographics and support our clients whether moving locally or cross-country, downsizing, renovating, or simply looking to maximize their current space. We approach each project with exceptional skill, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail”, Urgo states.

Urgo emphasized the importance of trust in their work. “Our best work happens when clients trust us completely. We’ve had clients hand us their keys and walk away, confident that we’ll handle everything. We go the extra mile for every client because we understand that moving is emotional and a big life change. Our ultimate goal is to make this transition as seamless and stress-free as possible.”

Randall and Urgo have noted several trends in the relocation industry. “The biggest new trend for us is the renovation trend,” Randall said. “People are buying and renovating homes instead of buying and selling. It’s become essential for us to get involved early in the renovation process to ensure that everything, from custom closets to kitchen inserts, is designed to fit our clients’ lifestyles and needs.”

Urgo added, “There’s also a trend toward minimalism. People want to simplify their lives, and we help them achieve that by identifying what they truly need and letting go of the rest. It’s about creating a new, functional, and beautiful space for them.”

Personalized Approach

The Settler’s approach is both meticulous and personalized. “We start with what the client wants and needs for their new life,” Randall explained. “We go through their belongings, determine what will be kept, what can be sold, donated, or disposed of, and then manage the entire process.”

Urgo elaborated on their method: “There is no such thing as bringing us in too early! We handle everything – from start to finish – so our clients don’t have to. We bring in movers, pack up the contents, inventory everything, and ensure it’s all going to the right destination. When they arrive at their new home, it’s already set up and organized, and they can continue life without interruption.”

One of their recent clients shared her experience: “Bridget and Jackie – We have no words! To say you’ve done a job better than anyone is the understatement of the century. So many people have said, ‘I could never be away while people moved my things’. To which I have responded, ‘You are missing out; you have not met The Settler. It’s not hard to find anything because everything is exactly where we would have put it. This team is A+!”

The Settler’s services are not just for high-end clients but are accessible to anyone looking for a efficient moving experience. “No project is too big or too small – we help clients with comprehensive end-to-end projects or with a singular need. We tailor our services to meet our clients’ specific needs,” Randall said.

Future Plans

Looking to the future, Randall and Urgo have ambitious plans. “We’d love to have a basic product line in five years,” Randall said. “We work in homes that require specific types of products not available on the market. From proper inserts for kitchens to storage solutions for silver, there’s a need for customized organizational products that fit everyone’s budget and aesthetic.” Urgo added, “We know what products we like, but they often need tweaking. We’d love to design niche products that address the specific needs of our clientele.”

As they continue to grow, Randall and Urgo remain committed to their mission of transforming the moving experience. “We care deeply about our clients,” Randall said. “It’s about creating a new chapter in their lives, and we’re honored to be a part of that.”

Urgo emphasized the importance of their personal touch. “It’s not just about moving boxes and decluttering; it’s about creating a space that feels authentic and truly transforms a house into a home.”

With their attention to detail, personalized approach, and dedication to their clients, Randall and Urgo have set a new standard in the industry.
