PRESS RELEASE
The Friends of Music at St. Mark’s, in collaboration with The St. Mark’s Choir, is set to present “Anything Goes! – A Cole Porter Cabaret Evening” on Sunday, June 2nd. The event will take place at Morrill Hall within St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, commencing at 5 PM. This evening promises an immersive experience with food, drink, and convivial seating arrangements.
Cole Porter’s music, initially innovative and now considered classic, features timeless songs such as “Anything Goes,” “Night and Day,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” and “I Love Paris in the Springtime,” among others. The St. Mark’s Choir and Soloists will perform these Porter classics in a cabaret setting, offering a unique and engaging experience for attendees. Guests will be seated at round tables adorned with candles, and heavy hors d’oeuvres along with wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be served, enhancing the intimate atmosphere of the evening.
This event marks the culmination of the inaugural and notably successful season of events hosted by the Friends of Music at St. Mark’s. It serves both as a fundraiser and a celebration of music and community. Additionally, the organizers will reveal plans for the upcoming 2024-2025 season during the evening.
Individual tickets for the event are priced at $75.00, and attendance is restricted to those aged 21 and over. The combination of exceptional music, fine food, and a warm, communal setting makes this an event not to be missed by enthusiasts of classic American music and supporters of the arts in New Canaan.
