PRESS RELEASE

On Sunday, June 2nd, Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will host a special evening celebrating the music of Cole Porter. This event, organized by The Friends of Music at St. Mark’s and featuring The St. Mark’s Choir, is set to commence at 5 pm. Attendees can expect an evening of food, drink, and music in a convivial cabaret setting.

The evening will showcase Porter’s timeless classics, including “Anything Goes,” “Night and Day,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” and “I Love Paris in the Springtime.” The performance aims to transport guests to a bygone era, with the hall arranged in a traditional cabaret style. Round tables adorned with candles will set the scene, accompanied by heavy hors d’oeuvres and a selection of wines and non-alcoholic beverages.

This event marks the conclusion of the inaugural season of The Friends of Music at St. Mark’s, a season noted for its success in promoting musical engagement within the community. The evening will also serve as a fundraiser, with proceeds supporting future musical initiatives. Plans for the 2024-2025 season will be announced during the event, providing attendees with a preview of upcoming programs.

Individual tickets are priced at $75.00, and attendees must be 21 years or older. This festive gathering promises an evening of enjoyment and community spirit, celebrating both the legacy of Cole Porter and the successful season of musical events at St. Mark’s.

Tickets can be purchased through the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church website or by contacting the church office directly.
