The New Canaan YMCA celebrated its 70th birthday in March. Founded in 1954 by a group of volunteers, the New Canaan YMCA was formed to serve the New Canaan community initially as an extension of the Norwalk YMCA, and then shortly after became its own independent branch. Members participated in festive activities to celebrate the Y and its 70 years of serving the New Canaan community. Submitted by YMCA.
