PRESS RELEASE

Dr. Fabian Laage Gaupp, an assistant professor of vascular and interventional radiology at Yale New Haven Hospital, will speak to the New Canaan Men’s Club Friday, April 5, about a relatively new, non-invasive treatment for a common prostate condition.

The meeting at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge, will begin at 10 a.m. Following the business portion of the meeting, Dr. Laage Gaupp’s will describe the benefits of the procedure in remarks beginning around 10:40 a.m.

About half the men between the ages of 51 and 60 develop an enlarged prostate condition, according to Yale Medicine. Because it is a non-invasive procedure, known as prostatic artery embolization, patients are treated on an outpatient basis and are able to return home later that day.

Dr. Laage Gaupp graduated from medical school at Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, completed his surgical internship at Cornell Presbyterian Hospital in New York, followed by residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was chief resident of Interventional Radiology.

The Men’s Club has openings for new members, men 55-years old and above. For information about joining, email ncmens@ncmens.club.
