Lidia Bastianich To Speak at New Canaan Library in April

New Canaan Library is proud to announce a special evening featuring top celebrity chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author, Lidia Bastianich. Ms. Bastianich will be speaking about her life and latest cookbook, Lidia’s: From Our Family Table to Yours, co-authored by her daughter Tanya Bastianich Manuali. In it, she shares the dishes she often cooks for those she loves the most, many inspired by her beloved mother. It includes a personal collection of more than a hundred favorite family recipes and anecdotes from this award-winning “doyenne of Italian cooking” as she was named by The New York Times.

This exciting fundraising event will be held on Thursday, April 25th, 6 -8 p.m. in the Jim and Dede Bartlett Auditorium. Ms. Bastianich will be interviewed by Ellen Sullivan Crovatto, Vice President of External Affairs and Philanthropy. Following the talk will be a Q & A with the audience, after which Ms. Bastianich will be available to sign copies of the book. Proceeds will benefit the Library’s Annual Fund which helps support all programs and services at the Library. Benefactor tickets include an opportunity to meet Ms. Bastianich and share some Italian aperitivos. Lidia Bastianich is an Emmy Award–winning public television host, a best‐selling cookbook author, restaurateur, and owner of a flourishing food and entertainment business. Lidia has authored over a dozen books, including her memoir, My American Dream: A Life of Love, Family, and Food, and her newly released cookbook, Lidia’s: From Our Family Table to Yours. Lidia is a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier and founding member of Women Chefs and Restaurateurs and among the numerous awards and accolades Lidia has earned are seven James Beard Awards and two Emmy Awards.
