Members of the New Canaan Men’s Club will learn about the history, architects, events, artists and relics that make St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome such a foundational center of the Roman Catholic Church in a talk by one of its members, John Schultz, Friday, March 15.

Schultz, who studied theology in Rome during the 1960s, developed a personal interest in Roman basilicas and has since made his career teaching religion at various educational levels.

Since studying in Rome, Schultz has taught Catholic theology, the history of Christian churches and world religions at the high school and college level for more than 40 years. He currently teaches at Lapham Community Center.
