Dear Editor,
On behalf of the New Canaan YMCA Annual Campaign Committee, we are writing to ask our fellow community members to please join us in supporting our Y.
For 70 years, the Y has been dedicated to serving New Canaan and has been the place where our community comes together…all ages, all abilities, and all backgrounds.
So many of us have a Y story, and stories like these are made every single day–A family new to town looking to connect; a group of seniors laughing with friends while staying physically active; hundreds and hundreds of kids each growing up with the Y finding new passions, new friends, and newfound confidence; a cancer survivor rediscovering strength with their Livestrong class; a group of young adults with special needs having a blast while learning to cook with friends; a family who is experiencing financial hardship but can still come to the Y and participate in programs thanks to financial assistance; and a building filled with people who each have their own different health goals and motivation, but who support each other because the Y is where our community becomes stronger together.
No matter our need, background, or stage in life, we can always count on the Y. And while our membership or visits to the facility may fluctuate over the years, we know the Y will always be there to support us when we need it.
