Dear Friends and Neighbors:
I was very lucky to grow up in New Canaan and feel so fortunate to have now moved back to raise my children in our wonderful community. As a lifer, this town and its longstanding institutions and traditions mean so much to me and my family. I am honored to co-chair the New Canaan Community Foundation Annual Appeal again this year with Anne Wagner – and hope that you will join us in making the foundation a philanthropic priority for your family. We are all so fortunate and privileged to live in this incredible community – but with great privilege comes great responsibility to give back and leave our town and our neighbors better than we found them.
Every year, the New Canaan Community Foundation supports nearly 100 local community organizations with grants that support their missions and grow their impact. Last year alone, the foundation provided 92 grants totaling $712,700 – all funds raised by us, members of the New Canaan community. Together we can make an even bigger difference this year. I hope you will join us in investing in the foundation so that we can grow our collective impact in 2024 and beyond.
My husband Adam and I support the Community Foundation because of its reach and local impact. In fact, we like to think of it as an ETF. One annual investment supports a wide range of local, important, and pre-vetted causes – all of which combine to produce impressive value for our entire community. Organizations like Person to Person, the Americares Free Clinics, Horizons, Inspirica, The New Canaan Library, Nature Center, and Land Trust, New Covenant Center, and Filling in the Blanks (and so many more!) are all examples of the local nonprofits that receive funds from our Community Foundation.
