It was a dynamic week for our local high school sports teams, with exhilarating victories and challenging losses on the field. Let’s take a closer look at the outcomes for our Varsity teams and their performances this week.

Varsity Girls Soccer

The Varsity Girls Soccer team had a rollercoaster of a week with three games. They started their week with a challenging home game against St. Joseph, which unfortunately ended in a 0-5 loss. The girls displayed resilience and determination in their next home game, holding Trumbull to a 1-1 tie. They wrapped up the week with an impressive 5-1 victory against Danbury in another home game.

Varsity Girls Volleyball

Our Varsity Girls Volleyball team had an eventful week, with three intense games. They began with a 3-1 home game victory against Brien McMahon, showing their strength on their own turf. However, they faced a challenging match at home against Westhill, which ended in a 0-3 loss. The girls finished the week on a high note with a dominant 3-0 win against Bridgeport Central during an away game.


This was a fantastic week in sports here at NCHS!


Varsity Boys Soccer

The Varsity Boys Soccer team had an eventful week on the field as well. They started their week with an impressive 1-0 win against St. Joseph during an away game, showcasing their skills and teamwork. However, the boys encountered a setback with a 0-3 loss against Trumbull during another away game. They continue to work hard and strive for consistency in their performances.

Varsity Field Hockey

Our Varsity Field Hockey team celebrated a remarkable victory this week. They dominated in an away game against Brien McMahon with a remarkable 7-1 score.

Varsity Boys and Girls Cross Country

Both the Varsity Boys and Girls Cross Country teams showcased their running prowess in the FCIAC cross-country championship. The Boys secured the 6th place out of 15 teams with 162 points, demonstrating their determination and commitment. Meanwhile, the Girls excelled, securing a remarkable 2nd place out of 14 teams with 79 points, highlighting their exceptional talent and teamwork.

Varsity Football

The Varsity Football team continued their winning streak with a solid 20-13 victory in a home game against Wilton. The team’s cohesion and perseverance were evident, and they continue to be a force to be reckoned with on the field.
