One of the most important factors when deciding where to live and raise a family, is the quality and the culture of the local schools. The New Canaan Public Schools have been a gold standard for public education not only in the State of CT, but also in the US. Our thanks to all who have volunteered in previous years. The Board of Education is critical to the quality of life in our town and to the future of our children. This box is one of the most important boxes you will tick on Nov 7.
We write to support Hugo Alves for re-election to the Board of Education. Hugo has lived in New Canaan for 13 years. We have known Hugo, his wife and 3 daughters since 2018. Hugo is not only a very successful businessman, but he is a dedicated husband and father. Hugo has spent countless hours on the Board over the past term to ensure that the New Canaan schools continue to meet the highest standards. Hugo researches issues and explores best practices. He sparks lively conversations with others to garner diverse opinions and non-emotional discussion. Hugo returns call and emails and communicates with everyone interested in Board issues. Ultimately, Hugo strives to ensure the best decisions are thoroughly vetted and made with confidence for our children.
