As the autumn leaves fall and the school year kicks into gear, the NCHS teams have been nothing short of remarkable, displaying their dedication, skill, and passion for their respective sports. This week was filled with thrilling victories, tough losses, and great games played on the field, court, and course. Here’s a recap of their recent performances:

Varsity Girls Soccer

The NCHS Varsity Girls Soccer team began their week with a challenging match against Staples in an away game. Unfortunately, they faced a strong opponent and suffered a 0-3 loss. Two days later in a game against Wilton, the girls team narrowed the gap from 3-0 down to a 1-1 tie in a hard-fought match.

Varsity Girls Volleyball

The NCHS Varsity Girls Volleyball team has been on a thrilling roller coaster ride this week. They opened the week with a fantastic 3-2 victory against Jonathan Law at home. However, they faced a formidable challenge in the form of Staples, resulting in a 0-3 loss. Later that week Girls Volleyball lost again in a closely contested match against Southington with a final score of 0-1.

Varsity Boys Soccer

The NCHS Varsity Boys Soccer team embarked on a difficult series of games this week. They encountered a formidable opponent in Stamford, where they experienced a tough 0-3 loss. Undeterred, they regrouped for their next away game against Wilton, putting up a strong fight but ultimately falling short with a 2-4 scoreline.


The NCHS Varsity Football team continued their impressive winning streak this week.


 

Varsity Field Hockey

NCHS Varsity Field Hockey experienced a remarkable turnaround this week. After a slow start to the season, the team found their stride and began to shine. They delivered a 5-0 victory against Danbury in an away game, showing significant improvement over themselves just weeks earlier in the season. The momentum continued with an 6-0 win at home against St. Joseph. In their most recent home game, they clinched a thrilling 2-1 victory against Greenwich, further solidifying their position as contenders in the league.

Varsity Boys Cross Country

The Varsity Boys Cross Country team faced fierce competition this week following fantastic performance in last week’s invitational event. In a meet against strong rivals, including Staples, Trumbull, and Westhill, they scored third place with 64 points.

Varsity Girls Cross Country

In contrast to their male counterparts, the Varsity Girls Cross Country team had an outstanding week. They dominated the competition, securing first place with an impressive 29 points in a meet against Staples, Trumbull, and Westhill.

Varsity Boys Golf

The Varsity Boys Golf team faced formidable opponents this week. In a match against St. Joseph, they unfortunately fell short, with New Canaan scoring 167 points to St. Joseph’s 153 points. The team then faced Ridgefield and experienced another setback, with a score of 167 points to Ridgefield’s 157 points. While these matches didn’t go as planned, the team remains undaunted and is determined to bounce back stronger.

Varsity Football

The NCHS Varsity Football team continued their impressive winning streak this week. With the victory this week against Fairfield Ludlowe in a 43-0 blowout the Varsity team is on their third game in a row won. They have had a great start to the season and will almost certainly perform extremely well in the coming games.
