In 2004, two different Connecticut mothers went through the trauma and devastating impact of premature childbirth with their pre-term twins. Through their experiences in different NICUs, over many months, facing multiple life-threatening conditions and numerous infant surgeries, these women recognized the need for emotional, educational, financial, and practical support for NICU families. They went on to found The Tiny Miracles Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to the lives, care and outcomes of children born too early and those who love and care for them.
Earlier this year, Tiny Miracles received a $100,000 grant from The Darien Foundation. The grant will allow Tiny Miracles to build out new headquarters space to consolidate all operations in nearby Darien. The new headquarters will allow the organization to host programs for families dealing with prematurity, as well as housing the new “Miracle Maker” volunteer studio, which will be the hub for the numerous volunteer gatherings to assemble the much-needed care packages that go to these families.
