Children, adolescents, and adults in urgent need of a mental health assessment may schedule an appointment to be seen within 48 hours at Silver Hill Hospital. The Town of New Canaan and Silver Hill Hospital have partnered to create the New Canaan Urgent Assessment (NCUA) Program. New Canaan residents will incur no out-of-pocket expenses for the assessment.
The goal of the NCUA Program is “to connect those in urgent need of mental health treatment with a timely, psychiatric assessment and tailored referral for ongoing care,” Silver Hill Hospital notes on its website. Patients who are already under the care of a mental health provider should seek care from their existing provider if possible. Non-residents will be responsible for payment through their medical plan benefits, which may include out-of-pocket expenses like deductibles and co-pays.
Assessments are by appointment only. To make an appointment, please email NCUA@silverhillhospital.org or call Silver Hill Hospital admissions at 1-866-542-4455 and note that you are inquiring about the New Canaan Urgent Assessment Program.
